Job description
The aim of your role as an Assistant PDC Manager is the continuous assurance of all receiving, packaging and shipping activities to customers, dealers, other PDCs in Europe and global export destinations. The goal is to do this in the most economic and efficient manner in such a way that the demands in the areas of safety, quality, delivery time, environment, flexibility and cost price are met. You will be based in PDC Budapest (location Zsámbék near to Herceghalom). 
  • Manage the operations departments of the PDC (receiving, break-out, storage, picking, value added services, consolidation & loading, and packaging). Span of control: 37 People. 3 Direct Reports;
  • Achieve goals for productivity, costs, quality, safety and delivery time;
  • Prepare and realize the inbound and outbound volumes with the available employees, equipment, storage space, machines, tools and packaging materials. Ensure quantitatively and qualitatively balanced staffing levels, guarantee the knowledge level and flexible deploy ability of employees;
  • Liaise with Materials, Transport, and the other PDCs in the PACCAR Network to align activities;
  • Champion the PACCAR Production System (PPS) to support team and personal development;
  • Identify, initiate, prepare and realize improvements in the areas of processes, costs, quality, safety, logistics, HR etc. to improve the performance levels. Create an optimal company climate, aimed at continuous improvement and effective information and communication patterns;
  • Ensure the application, execution and adherence of all prescriptions, measures and provisions in the areas of certification, quality, environment, safety and working conditions, order and tidiness;
  • Participate in and execution of projects for the implementation of new products and product changes;
  • This role reports directly to the PDC Manager Budapest.

Your profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject is required, Master’s degree is strongly preferred;
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the area of logistic operations management;
  • Proven abilities in functional leadership;
  • Change management; from start to implementation;
  • Results driven, working in a structured manner while maintaining adaptable;
  • Effective communicator able to establish effective information flows throughout the organization;
  • Customer service orientation, interpersonal skills, issue resolution skills and ability to influence;
  • Strong Six Sigma skills; experience in leading Six Sigma projects;
  • Ability to manage under difficult and stressful situations;
  • Advanced MS Office platform computer skills: MSExcel, MSAccess and MSPowerPoint;
  • Knowledge of DAF or PACCAR Parts, the organization and the processes;

Department
PACCAR Parts Europe (PPE) reports to the PACCAR Parts Division, Renton US. PPE works closely with DAF Trucks in Europe to grow the sales of spare parts to over 1,000 DAF dealers, TRP stores and customers around the world. To satisfy our customers’ ‘one stop shop’ requirement, PACCAR Parts sells DAF and PACCAR branded parts for DAF truck applications and TRP branded parts for other manufacturers of trucks, semi-trailers and workshop items. PPE has employees in all major European markets and PACCAR Distributions Centers (PDC) in Eindhoven, Leyland, Madrid, Budapest.
