Job description
The (Senior) Global Purchaser (GP) will be responsible for organizing activities concerning the supply of goods and services from external suppliers. The GP will create the most favorable and competitive business conditions ensuring continuity of supply, contributing to growth and realizing cost reductions. The GP will report into a Global Category Manager and support the category management activities for specific portfolios with an annual spend value of up to € 75 million. Key contacts will include country procurement managers, functional owners at divisional, regional and country level and major global suppliers.



The GP’s primary responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development, management and execution of global Category Strategies;

  • Conducting global and/or supporting local sourcing projects;

  • Liaising, as a member of a cross functional team, with internal stakeholders and suppliers;

  • Assessing and qualifying global suppliers and managing their performance;

  • Contract negotiation activities and preparations;

  • Managing long term supplier relationships for specific global categories;

  • Support the development, implementation and monitoring of procurement best practices, procedures and policies;

  • Monitoring and reporting important market developments for your category;

  • Assessing, qualifying and mitigating supplier, legal and business continuity risks.
 
Preferred profile
The successful candidates will most likely meet the following criteria:

  • At least a Bachelor Degree or equivalent working level preferably in Economics and/or Procurement and/or Transportation;

  • 3-5 years international experience in sourcing and procurement;

  • Ability to work in a multitask, multicultural environment and in cross-functional teams;

  • Solid planning and organizational skills;

  • Strong communications skills combined with strong analytical and conceptual acumen;

  • Experience in process efficiency and change management;

  • Fluent English language skills (written and verbal). Fluency in another European language is a plus;

  • Ability to use and understand Procurement IT & communication systems;

  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally and work out of office times as required for the job.
