The Assistant Treasurer is responsible for Cash and Financial Risk Management and Regional Treasury Management and leads an (international) team of Three Cash Managers and five Regional Treasury Managers who are all based at our Group Head Office in Hoofddorp. The expected results include a comprehensive risk management strategy, fit for the needs of the business, executed on best available commercial terms. As regards cash management, the expected result is an efficient and low-cost cash concentration and internal group funding structure for the group combined with daily management of the group overall cash surplus and short term funding needs based on effective short term cash forecast models. Regional Treasury Management adds value to the bottom line profitability and risk management framework of the group by realizing best market practice local treasury solutions in terms of cash management, financing, capital structuring, parental support, local debt and investments as well as financial risk management.
The Assistant Treasurer is responsible for a wide and variable range of treasury activities including:
Lead and develop the Cash Management and Regional Treasury Management teams
Develop and implement global cash management solutions
Management of our Dutch and two foreign internal financing companies, our commercial paper programme and short term borrowings and investments
Interest rate, foreign exchange, liquidity and credit risk management
Local financial structuring of operating and holding companies, cash management and cash repatriation, financial risk management and other treasury support for all 60+ countries worldwide
Maintain best practice treasury management and reporting systems
Contribute to various corporate projects such as M&A
Internal relationships include the Group Tax, Legal, M&A and Financial Reporting functions. Also, strong relations with business unit management are a key success factor. Externally, good relationships are maintained with our strategic bank group.
Preferred profile
University degree, preferable business of mathematically oriented
A minimum of 10 years experience in management, corporate treasury or corporate finance
Recognized senior treasury/accounting qualification or both
Flexible and no 9 to 5 mentality
Analytical and mathematical skills
Presentation and written skills
Knowledge of financial markets and treasury instruments
Knowledge of cash management systems
Experience in Project Management
Commercial awareness
