| The Division |
Process and Chemical Industry (PCI) is an advisory group within the division Environment at Royal Haskoning. This group consists of about 45 experts, including environmental scientists, process technologists, toxicologists, chemists, industrial hygienists and regulatory affairs specialists. Our specialists are involved in all aspects of chemicals management regulatory compliance, environmental and human safety, supply chain management etc. The management of chemicals does not stop at the borders of a country or Europe, but is a global issue with implications everywhere in the world. The global presence of Royal Haskoning is therefore an advantage for our clients.
Although REACH claims a large effort of Europe’s chemicals management professionals nowadays, in the meanwhile other important aspects of chemicals management must not be forgotten. New chemicals need to be registered under REACH, but may need registration in other parts of the world as well. The implementation of GHS is ongoing in different parts of the world and will ask re-classification of substances and mixtures.
We aim to provide a one-stop-shop for registrations, notifications and classification issues worldwide. The diversity of our services makes it possible to assist clients in the entire field of chemicals management.

| Job description |
We are currently looking for a senior consultant in the field of ecotoxicology. The job activities for this function will include (a.o.): - Risk assessments (mainly for industrial chemicals / REACH, but also for biocides and pharmaceuticals): - Coordination and supervision of the preparation and submission of REACH registration dossiers, focusing on ecotoxicological endpoints: - Data(gap) analysis, evaluation and proposing test strategies to help regulatory compliance: - Monitoring of laboratory studies: - Implementation of alternative strategies, such as (Q)SAR’s and read-across: - Applying your knowledge to further develop new and existing markets/activities: - Presenting and publishing in your field of expertise at an (inter)national level.

| Your qualifications and experience |
You know your way around in your field of expertise and are familiar with working in a project-based organization. You have a large (international) network and are capable of successfully managing key projects with multidisciplinary teams. You actively monitor scientific and regulatory developments related to your field of expertise and translate these into business opportunities. You have: - An academic or comparable education in a relevant field (e.g. biology, environmental sciences / chemistry), possibly followed by a PhD: - At least 10 years of experience, preferably in a commercial environment: - Practical experience with the testing regimes for chemicals according to international guidelines (EU, OECD, ISO), as well as experience with alternative approaches: - Knowledge of and experience with modeling of environmental distribution/behaviour and exposure for the purpose of risk assessment (e.g. EUSES): - A flexible and independent attitude and are a team player: - Excellent communicative and writing skills: - Focus on market and clients.
